Digital Foot Scan
What is a digital foot scanner?
A digital foot scanner is a machine which helps evaluate your postural health. After you are scanned, the machine creates a digital image of your feet that shows your weight distribution on each foot and indicates any imbalances or weaknesses in your feet.
My feet don’t hurt; why should I get them scanned?
Because your feet have a great affect on everything which rests above them. You may not realize it, but your body is a large kinetic chain. All of its parts are interconnected, with one part affecting another. Weaknesses or imbalances in your feet can affect other areas of your body, like your knees, hips, and spine. When you stand, walk, or run your body is subjected to natural forces and postures than can stress and strain up your body’s kinetic chain. Your feet are the foundation for your entire body. If the foundation is not level or is shaky, then the rest of the body will never be level.
What can Dr. Barrett learn from the scan?
He can determine if your feet could be the cause, or a contributing cause to your current problem, or possibly lead to issues in the future. He can then better decide if you would benefit from Custom Orthotics.
What are Custom Orthotics?
They are flexible, custom-made support devices that you wear in your shoes. They are the only Orthotics designed to support all three arches of your foot. Stabilizers balance and support the arches to help better align your ankles, knees, and hips, providing a solid foundation for your entire body. Exact measurements of your feet are taken from your digital foot scan, so the Orthotics are as unique as you are. Firm yet flexible, they support the body and allow your feet to maintain normal movement.
